Astronaut

This is the last character that I got to make for my 3D illustration class this semester.  I created this astronaut for an 11 second storyboard.  I worked in a group of two people, and they also created their own characters (I might post pictures later on this week).  The awesome part is, at least I get to see my character in a 3D form.

Materials: Sculpey (helmet, hands, boots), wire, foam, fabric, cardboard, canvas, shoelaces, and acrylic paint.

Agent Smartmouth

In my 3D illustration class, I created a character who would be the mascot/spokesperson for a mouthwash company.  So I decided to make a secret agent/spy, because she is always ready to-go with her mouthwash, which is her secret weapon in killing bad breath.  On her utility belt, she has a rope of floss and some toothbrushes, and a backpack that carries extra of all of her spy gadgets.

Knee Deep in Thunder

A couple weeks ago, I made a post of the two characters (Maris and Exi the beetle) that I made for my 3D illustration class.  I have since made an environment for them, and photographer Chris Simmons helped photograph them.  The final step was to turn one of the photos into a book cover.

Knee-Deep in Thunder Characters

These are both characters that I made for my 3D illustration class.  The girl's name is Maris and the beetle's name is Exi.  They are both main characters from the book Knee-Deep in Thunder by Shelia Moon.

Maris’s head, hands, legs and shoes are made out of super sculpey. Her body is a wire armature covered in foam and duct-tape. Her hair is made out of string and painted brown. Her skirt and jacket is a cut-up pair of jeans, and shirt is a blue piece of fabric with painted stripes.
Exi is made from wire and foil armature, covered in super sculpey and paint.

Final Logo Designs

This is the final logo design for my company, Outer Knits.  Compared to the original sketches, I decided to do something that was simple to look at.  Because my company is for space travelers, I decided to do a space shuttle with a scarf wrapped around it.

This was the second logo I had to create, which is in competition with Kai's logo design for Phat Rat.  My classmate Dylan Poston was my art director, and I made the final design.

**These are not real companies, but made-up ones for the purpose of learning how to design a logo.
